Flamingos Alferini Golf Course Review
Part of the 5 Star Villa Padierna Hotel and Golf Resort, this is the new “Monster Course” built to attract championships.
Long and hard off the back tees, it nevertheless also offers a good challenge to the average club player. There are not many courses on the Costa del Sol where you can leave the villas and apartments behind and head into the hills - but this is one of them!
Despite being a long golf course, not every hole demands a big drive. From the first two tees, position is more important than length. All of the par 3’s are challenging but very attractive.
As the course runs up and down valleys, you are often faced with difficult 2nd shots into elevated greens, but the greens themselves are large and receptive and the putting surfaces superb.
Having battled up hill you are rewarded with an enticing downhill drive, none more exciting than the 18th to a narrow fairway way below you. A great finishing hole!
Although still relatively new, the fairways are filling out well and the greens are very good. Bring your best game to this golf course!
